DESCRIPTION:\nThe GHIC has supported Folkmoot for more than a decade and shares its mission of diversity, multiculturalism, educational enrichment, and creative entrepreneurship.  For more information click here: https://www.folkmoot.org/\nEach summer since 1984 musicians and dancers from across the globe have visited the North Carolina Mountain town of Waynesville as part of the Folkmoot International Dance and Music Festival. More than 8,000 international performers from 200 countries have participated through the decades.\nThere will not be an event in Hickory this year.  Weekend events are scheduled in Haywood County, usually – but not always – including the towns of Waynesville, Canton, Maggie Valley, Clyde and Lake Junaluska.  Other events includes a Gala for Friends of Folkmoot, Camp Folkmoot for youth, A Parade of Nations and an International Festival and several special seated events including the Candlelight Closing at Lake Junaluska.\nPlans are in the works for SUMMERFEST 2023 to take place during the last weekend in July.\nTo receive communications about participation for 2023 for performing groups and vendors, please click here https://www.folkmoot.org/programming/applications-2/\nPrevious Year’s Ticket Pricing\nGeneral Admission $10\nChildren (12 years & under) Free\n
